1978 was a
busy year for Micronauts licencing. One of the stranger items to emrge came from
a company called Hot Items from New York. The name: Bubbletron. The function:
well, you guessed it. A bubble blowing dispenser. When you unscrewed the head
and gave the tummy a squeeze, a circular wand would raise for you to blow bubbles
with. This 7" toy was hours of fun! Rather heavy, it came pre-filled with the
soapy solution and came in 2 colors, red and black. The picture on the card shows
a different head than the one actually produced. This weird member of the Micronaut
family was sold in store like Toys-R-Us for a whopping $1.78. |
