Micronauts Aliens - series two

Copyrighted in 1979, but probably not seeing the light of day until 1980, came the second series of Aliens. Capitalizing on the success of the 1st series, Mego continued to churn out evil, twisted and somewhat silly designs for this second batch. By about this time, the Mego corp. was on it's last legs as a company, so alot of the figures and vehicles saw a very limited U.S. release. Alto heavily advertised in manufacturers catalogs and even TV commercials, some prototypes never made it to production. Most were released in Italy by the Gig company, thus making the series two Aliens and vehicles some of the rarest finds in the Micronaut line today. The vehicles themselves had obtained slightly odd and silly names and had bizarre functions, but one basic thing remained true. The Alien figures were still cool. They also featured the removable weapons, wrist cuffs and of course the glow-in-the-dark brains, and beautiful card art by Ken Kelly, which can be viewed in their full glory compliments of collector Rumel Tomiampos . The uglies of series two continued the great tradition of the Micronaut Aliens, and are highly sought after by Micro-collectors everywhere.
