"Metal Die-cast Space Warrior with Flapout Wingpack"

"In 1977 the small scale engineering of Space Glider's die-cast body and spring-loaded Wing Pack were years ahead of their time, and were a prized part of any action figure collection. Space Glider journeys through a Microverse populated by high-tech heroes, powerful villians and marauding aliens." Released in 2002, the text from the file card says it all! These new Space Gliders were replicated from the Mego vintage Space Gliders, and come in 4 colors: red/silver, blue/black, green/silver, and silver and yellow.

Sharing all the same attributes as the vintage Space Gliders; removable wing pack and helmet, the Palisades Space Gliders come packed with new surprises! One of the major new changes to the retro series figures is the more detailed head sculpting. This has allowed the ill-fitting helmet of old to properly fit the Space Glider's styling hair-do. Additionally, a great new Space Blaster accessory was added. All parts are fully compatible with the vintage line, and these new color combos up the interchangeability factor to the hilt!

Another new feature included with the Palisades figures are fantastic "crack-n-peel" stickers (packaged to the left of the figure inside the bubble) showing off the fantastic artwork of artist Dave Dorman. The reverse of the card shows off the same artwork again, this time as part of a collectible file card. The Space Glider "microbyte" reads: "The 1970's Space Gliders- regardless of color- came equipped with only a blue helmet. Space Gliders in the new millinnium have their own color co-ordinated helmets and an all new Space Blaster!"

These 4 different Space Gliders are all equally packed, 1 per case, inside a case of 16 figures. Lastly, a figure stand was included in the package.

Palisades has also made a limited variant through Hero Factory. All in all, the Palisades retro series 1 for 2002 is a welcomed addition into the Microverse.

Many thanks to Paul Lorphanpaibul for supplying ISO with the yellow Space Glider!
