The
Micronauts had vehicles to get around in, and ships to do battle with.
The only thing they needed now was a place to hang out...so along came
the Micronauts city sets. These were the largest boxed play sets that
Mego had put out so far, and they integrated well with the rest of the
toy line. A couple of them were unique stations with moving vehicles,
and the rest were huge building sets. Each set had the same basic components
that played on the 5mm peg/hole system - square panels that were held
together by small gray connectors...and much more were thrown in to give
each city some flavor and uniqueness. Each set also came with a large
instruction sheet and layout map, so you could build the city of your
choice. Or better yet, if you felt creative, you could build and design
your own. This was also a great marketing gimmick for Mego, because each
set contained the same basic pieces, and had different names. But one
thing remains the same today...you're still going to have some sore fingertips
when you're done popping those connectors into those panels...
